The Mission of the Goshen Chamber of Commerce is to Champion our Community’s Business Future.

· Classes: English as a Second Language - The Goshen Adult Literacy Program (GALP) will again offer English as a Second Language (ESL) classes beginning January 5 at the Goshen Public Library.  New sessions start each quarter of the year and run from 10 am to noon on Saturdays for eight weeks. Students must register with GALP and be assessed on their current proficiency in English prior to joining the class. Registration: $20.  Business Managers and Human Resource Managers are encouraged to share the information about these classes with their employees who need to improve their grasp of English. · ASSETS Elkhart County Entrepreneurship Program - The ASSETS program offers entrepreneurship training to assist low to moderate income entrepreneurs in starting or expanding their own business. Classes start on Thursday, January 17 at Goshen College during a 23-session, 12 week period. Call 574-535-7451 for details.

· Adult Study Tour to Mexico - Goshen College is again offering a continuing education study-tour for adults titled “Our Mexican Neighbors.” This five-week evening course meets twice in April and May and includes a one-week trip to Mexico City and Cuernavaca.  Intended for business leaders, elected officials, teachers, church staff and citizens of Elkhart County, the tour-course is offered at a discounted price for continuing education students, or may be taken for college credit for an additional fee.  Highlights:  overview of Mexican history and politics; sampling of Mexico’s culture.  The goal is to increase understanding of the social, economic and political forces the Chamber News at
