School of Public and Environmental Affairs Presents:

Does Immigration Beget Crime?

Dr. Jacob Ian Stowell

March 20, 2008 • IPFW-Walb Union 114-116 • 5-6PM

Dr. Stowell’s research is focused on the variation in patterns of violence across immigrant and non-immigrant neighborhoods. Most recently, his research has involved testing whether immigration is associated with high levels of lethal and non-lethal violence, as theories of crime expect. Dr. Stowell is currently involved in additional research projects with Dr. Ramiro Martinez (Florida International University), which examine both the spatial and temporal aspects of the immigrant/crime link.

This lecture is part of a series hosted by America’s Renaissance, the School of Public and Environmental Affairs’ student organization. All IPFW and surrounding community members are welcome to attend. Parking in student parking areas at IPFW is free and does not require a permit. Refreshments will be provided.
