Benefit concert for Window
As times grow tougher for many folks caught in the middle of Elkhart County’s economic crisis, local and national artists are banding together like never before to do their part to aid those in need. Northern Indiana Americana rockers Wilson’s Reservoir, in conjunction with numerous local businesses and The Goshen Theater, planned an April 11 concert with all proceeds benefiting Goshen food pantry/social service organization The Window. Joining the band for this event was the critically acclaimed Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania outfit, Strand of Oaks.
Wilson’s Reservoir has already created a buzz locally, thanks to their indefatigable work ethic, accessible sound and energetic stage show. Strand of Oaks, whose music Rollingstone.com has called “devastating, gorgeous songs about loss and heartbreak,” features former Goshen resident Timothy Showalter on guitar and vocals. The band made a special stop in an otherwise busy touring schedule just to play the theater, which has become known not only for its classic retro look but also for its stellar sound.
Admission to the event was $7, or $5 with four canned or dry goods (food).
