Funds raised by ALMA at the cinco de mayo will go towards the Mexican Scholarship Fund, administered through the Central Indiana Community Foundation. Each year ALMA contributes its revenue to assure that deserving youth are awarded scholarships. This year an additional ten students will receive scholarships of two thousand per year, with a potential of continuing to receive the scholarship for the next four years. If others are interested in contributing towards the fund they can contact ALMA at email@example.com or phone 317-592-1733, and the Central Indiana Community Foundation at http://www.cicf.org/page26456.cfm.
Hats off to the cinco de mayo organizing committee (David Hernandez, Francisco Valdiosera [holding his baby], Julian Saavedra, Karla Reyes and Olga Villa Parra, seen planning) for an excellent event that drew anywhere from 8 to 10 thousand people.
