FWCS students raise nearly $30,000 for Riley
Fort Wayne Community Schools students and staff raised nearly $30,000 for Riley Children’s Foundation during the 2010-11 school year.
About 2,500 workers across northern Indiana remain on strike. Both sides are arguing over the numbers for a new contract. If the strike continues for an extended period of time, it could cause a major delay for many building and road projects.
Congressman Joe Donnelly addressed the students saying: Congratulations to the 2011 Elkhart Memorial High School graduates. I especially commend this year's class for their participation in numerous service and philanthropic fundraising activities for the community and world, including raising money for Haiti earthquake victims, women's shelters, and food pantries. I was honored to speak at their graduation today.
