Families Who Lost Children Team With Community Leaders • To Build Angel of Hope Memorial Garden

NOBLESVILLE, IN – Conceived as only a dream over two years ago, a small group of parents who lost their daughters decided to build a beautiful memorial garden in Noblesville’s Forest Park.

They shared a vision of a quiet place where families could go to remember their children and heal.

Alice Hall, a mother who lost her daughter feels the Angel of Hope Project will bring comfort to those suffering after losing a child.

“I have spent the last five years since my daughter Megan died looking for something good to come from it, and I couldn’t find it until now,” Hall said. “The Angel of Hope Project has provided me with the strength to share my story and tell people about our Memorial Garden, which will bring a form of comfort that we all seek in dealing with living our lives without them in it.”

Supported by the Parks Board and community leaders, the garden will have the Angel of Hope statue as its centerpiece. The angel is bronze with the face of a child, arms raised out as a child wanting to be lifted. Under her right wing is the word HOPE. The angel represents all children who have passed away. Radiating out from our angel in an octagon shape 48 feet across will be bricks engraved with children’s names and messages from family and friends. Majestic trees will shade four benches providing families a place to sit and remember their loved ones.

Each year, a Spring Remembrance Celebration will be held on the Saturday before Mother’s Day. In three large planters, flowers will represent and celebrate the children’s lives. A sixty foot path will lead from the park’s main walking path to the memorial. It will be located in the south end of Forest Park which provides the quiet and solitude families will want. At night, the garden will be illuminated by soft landscape lighting. A Candle Lighting Service will be held at the Garden on the 6th of December.
