In his weekly radio and Web address, President Obama glimpsed what his focus will be Wednesday when he comes back to Elkhart County.

Obama stressed the need to “build a new foundation strong enough to withstand future economic storms and support lasting prosperity” in his speech.

“Next week, I’ll be talking about that new foundation when I head to Elkhart County in Indiana – a city hard hit not only by the economic crisis of recent months but by the broader economic changes of recent decades. For communities like Elkhart to thrive, we need to recapture the spirit of innovation that has always moved America forward,” Obama said.

In May, Electric Motors Corp. announced it would locate in the Nappanee-Wakarusa area of Elkhart County to manufacture electric vehicles in an area where thousands lost jobs from depressed RV manufacturing.

Details on the time and exact location Obama will appear in Elkhart County have not yet been released by the White House.
