SOUTH BEND -- The city's Redevelopment Commission approved a big donation to Ivy Tech Community College on Thursday.__Commissioners voted to give the former Discount Banquet and Tool Rental property to the college. Ivy Tech officials plan to use the site at 230 E. Sample St. for additional parking.__Dave Relos, a South Bend economic development planner, said the city paid $302,000 to acquire the property and $548,000 to cover the owner's relocation costs in February 2011.__Ivy Tech's enrollment has boomed in recent years, and the college has expanded into buildings along Sample Street as a result. The city also donated the former Habitat for Humanity ReStore property at 412 E. Sample St. to Ivy Tech in 2010./ SBT
