Sinclair to Host Engineering Exploration for Hispanic Community Dayton, Ohio Sinclair Community College will host Exploring Engineering Technologies for the greater Dayton areas Hispanic community on Thursday, October 9. The event will be held from 9-11:30 a.m. and 6-8 p.m. in Room 2322, on the third floor of Building 2, on the Sinclair campus in Dayton. It is free and open to the public. Sinclair responds to the challenge of the Dayton areas growing Latino population through its Hispanic Outreach Initiative directed by Lilly Calderon. The goal is to provide outreach efforts to inform the community of what educational opportunities are available for Latinos. It is similar to older Sinclair outreach programs for the Miami Valleys larger African-American and Appalachian populations. The purpose of Exploring Engineering Technologies is to introduce Hispanic high school students and adults to the various engineering technology disciplines and provide information about the educational options available to them, said Calderon.
