WASHINGTON, DC – Energy Secretary Steven Chu today announced the selection of 25 cost-share projects under the Clean Cities program that will be funded with nearly $300 million from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. These projects will speed the transformation of the nation’s vehicle fleet, putting more than 9,000 alternative fuel and energy efficient vehicles on the road, and establishing 542 refueling locations across the country. The Department of Energy also estimates they will help displace approximately 38 million gallons of petroleum per year.

Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration planned by IPFW committee
Hispanic Heritage month is an annual celebration running from September 15th - October 15. Established in 1988 by President Reagan to celebrate people of Hispanic descent. The month has evolved to commemorate Hispanic individuals’ achievements and help provide young Hispanics with the incentive to succeed throughout their lives. A committee at Indiana University-Purdue University in Fort Wayne (IPFW) works very hard each year to plan events, educational lectures, entertainment, food, and cultural activities to celebrate.
SST AT SEVENTY - Trip to Estelí – Part 3
Our last day in Estelí we do some sightseeing. We head to Tisey, a nature preserve near Estelí that has over 100 species of plants and animals. This reserve is one of the few areas in Nicaragua that is co-managed by local residents and the government. We hike down to Estanzuela, a 15-meter waterfall.
