INTERNATIONAL GUEST CONDUCTOR JESÚS AMIGO WILL LEAD PHILHARMONIC MUSICIANS AT 8 P.M. NOV. 12 MASTERWORKS CONCERT AT EMBASSY

‘Musically Speaking,’ a pre-concert discussion about the evening’s repertoire, starts at 7 p.m. in Gallery Room of Grand Wayne Center.

FORT WAYNE, IND. (Nov. 2, 2005) ­ The Fort Wayne Philharmonic’s third Masterworks Concert of the 2005-2006 season will be conducted by internationally acclaimed guest conductor, Jesús Amigo. The 8 p.m. concert November 12 at the Embassy Theatre features works by Falla, Santos, Ravel and Schumann.

Repertoire for the 8 p.m. Masterworks concert (and subject of the 7 p.m. pre-concert discussion) is: The Three Cornered Hat, Suite No. 1, by Falla; Encruzilhada: Ballet in one act Symphony No 1 in F minor; by Joly Brage Santos; Pavane for a Dead Princess, by Ravel; and Symphony No. 4 in D Minor, Opus 120, by Schumann.

Jesús Amigo is a native of Spain, and served as guest conductor with six Spanish orchestras, five Mexican orchestras and with symphonies in France, Italy and Germany. His November 12 Masterworks concert with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic marks his U.S. Philharmonic debut.

Philharmonic Masterworks ticket prices start at $22 ($15 for seniors), and are now on sale. Philharmonic Box Office hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday and from noon until 4 p.m. on Saturday if there is a concert that evening. Last-minute buyers can purchase tickets at the Embassy Theatre Box Office one hour prior to the performance.
