Elkhart County, Goshen declare weather emergency

Elkhart County officials and the City of Goshen declared a Level 2 Emergency Warning as a result of the winter storm.

Heavy snow and blowing drifts led authorities to declare the emergency, which means that conditions are deemed “threatening to the safety of the public.”

Only essential travel was recommended.

The city and county, in accordance with Indiana Department of Homeland Security guidelines, recommend that businesses, schools, government agencies and other organizations should use their emergency action plans.
