Author Lynette Carpenter and brother, Marlin Stutzman, signed books in Shipshewana this Saturday

Have you wondered what you would have done differently if only you had known how things would turn out? Local author, Lynette Stutzman Carpenter, wrote a children’s book that challenges kids to consider this very question and to dream about who and what they might become some day.

Carpenter’s wrote her book,”My Brother, the Senator,” as a birthday gift for her brother, Marlin Stutzman, who at the time was an Indiana Senator. Stuzman was recently elected to represent the third district in the United States House of Representatives.

Carpenter’s book focuses on what it was like growing up as the Senator’s sister. In it, she discusses how sibling rivalry can threaten to tear families apart, but how choosing to love each other, no matter who they are, is a blessing like no other. “I have been teasing Marlin since he was first elected as Indiana State Representative about this very thing. If only I had known who he would become, I might have treated him with greater honor as his little sister!” shared Carpenter.

A portion of all book sales will go to “Impact of Hope,” which is a ministry that blesses families of seriously ill children, a cause that
