A 5K (roughly 3 mi) “Polar Expressway” route is offered for walkers or runners with a pit stop at the free cookie, coffee and cocoa station.
Both routes start and stop at Nibco Ice Rink located at 303 Nibco Parkway in downtown Elkhart. The 1K route will follow sidewalks along Nibco Parkway to Jackson, Waterfall Drive, Elkhart Ave and back to Nibco Parkway. The 5K route will follow the sidewalks along the Riverwalk including Island, Bicentennial and Pulaski Parks.
A costume contest will take place after the event at Nibco Ice Rink with trophies for the best adult and child outfit. Trophies will also be awarded to the winner of the 5K run and to the largest “group” registered.
Participants bringing nonperishable food donations will be able to ice skate before or after the event for free. (A $3 skate rental fee applies)
