Maple City Health Care Center Wins Summit Award
Goshen, Indiana, December, 2015 – Managed Health Services (MHS) announced today that Maple City Health Care Center has won the national Summit Award for Excellence in Care.
In addition to hosting an awards banquet for MCHCC staff, MHS announced the award on several prominent billboards in the Goshen area.
MHS is an Indiana-based health maintenance organization. The Summit Award is for providing quality care and clinical excellence to children and adults enrolled in MHS’s statewide health plan.
MHS President and CEO, Kevin O’Toole, and Vice President of Medical Affairs, Dr. Robert Baker, visited Maple City Health Care Center earlier today to present the award to the seven MCHCC medical providers who cared for patients during 2014 -- Barbara Clem NP, Amy Crosson NP, Dr. Rose Gillin, Dr. James Nelson Gingerich, Stacy Krahn NP, Carolin Marzouk NP, and Susan Setiawan NP.
Today’s award is the second time in four years that Maple City Health Care Center has won the Summit Award. MCHCC previously won the award in 2012.
MHS bases the award on Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) and other quality measures. Maple City Health Care Center earned the highest ranking for quality care and clinical excellence.
“We are grateful for recognition from MHS that the quality of our care is the best in the state,” James Nelson Gingerich said. “Interestingly, the global health care cost for our patients is among the lowest in the state. We accomplish both quality and affordability through relationship-based care.”
“MHS is proud to recognize Maple City Health Care Center for the outstanding service they provide to MHS members in the Goshen community,” said MHS President and CEO Kevin O’Toole. “With the Summit Award, we thank Maple City Health Care Center for their ongoing dedication to helping children and families live healthy lives.”
The mission of Vista Community Health Center and Maple City Health Care Center is to foster healthy community by providing high quality, affordable, accessible, integrated health care. The centers’ web site is www.mchcc.com.
