Goshen Elects New Kid Mayor

On Friday, November 5th at the historic Goshen Theatre, Mayor Jeremy Stutsman announced the name of the new Kid Mayor for the City of Goshen, Jaden Espinosa Lopez. Jaden won by earning the majority of votes from his fourth-grade peers across the city. He will serve as Kid Mayor for one year, until next fall when another election takes place.

As Kid Mayor, Jaden will help run a city Board of Works meeting and a City Council meeting. Jaden and the other five Kid Mayor finalists will also get to spend a day touring different city departments with Mayor Stutsman.

During his term as Kid Mayor, Jaden will lead the other finalists in a “Mini City Council” which will meet once a month and work to tackle any issue that they would like to see changed within the City of Goshen. They will come up with a proposal for Goshen’s City Council, which they will present at a city council meeting toward the end of the school year.
