Indiana Tree Stewards – Goshen

The Indiana Department of Natural Resources Tree Stewards Program is coming to Goshen, September 11-12, 2025, at the Schrock Pavilion, Shanklin Park, 411 W. Plymouth Ave. The Tree Steward Program is a 2-day workshop offered periodically throughout the state that teaches the basics of urban tree care and how to communicate the benefits of urban trees.

Attendees are asked to use their skills by volunteering 15 hours of service to local communities to improve or maintain the urban forest. The workshop is free and includes lunch both days. Only 30 spots are available.

Topics covered include:

  • Basic tree biology
  • Some tree identification
  • Proper planting and pruning techniques
  • Tree disorders and maintenance
  • Urban tree advocacy
