Opening a WINDOW to God’s love and inspiring hope for changed lives.

Press Release February 28 , 2006

The Window Pantry Invites Clients of Closing Pantry. A mission outreach of the area churches organized as Church Women United of Goshen, which operates The Window Community Volunteer Center is pleased to announce our eagerness to expand our services to help meet low income needs in the Goshen area. We would like to extend a special invitation to any persons in need of food assistance who have been served by the food pantry at LaCasa in Goshen. We want people to know that we extend the Christian compassion of the local churches to all in need. Our board, staff, volunteers and guests are glad to testify to the service and our efforts to extend hospitality to all persons regardless of race, creed, age, legal status, religion, language, ethnicity, or national origin.

For ten years we have been offering services in Spanish as well as English. We have hired an additional Spanish speaker and are adding more Spanish-speaking volunteers to be able to serve the Hispanic community even better. Soon our more of our written materials will be translated into Spanish. We are pleased to accept the support and welcome the assistance of Goshen’s Hispanic leadership in our efforts to spread the news that The Window is actively seeking to serve new guests, especially those who may enjoy the pleasure of being served in Spanish. .

We are currently undertaking remodeling and renovations to increase our efficiency and ability to serve our guests in the best manner possible. As we serve even more people, there will be an increased need for donations of food, clothing and financial support.

Anyone not familiar with The Window’s services is welcome to stop by for a tour and a cup of coffee, whether the person is seeking assistance, making a donation of food or money, volunteering or just wanting to share in the laughter and Christian hospitality. Eber Rice-Smucker, Executive Director
