It is the time to congratulate students who are graduating both from High School and from college. They are the best crop from the communities who have placed all their efforts in supporting them. Each graduate represents the joint effort of teachers, parents and students.

It should be noted that as the Hispanic population increases, the number of graduates from this community also increases. The sacrifice, long working hours and times of loneliness in this country are paying off if each family can count child by child in the ladder to success.

We celebrate with these students not only their academic achievements, but also the ability to overcome difficult situations. We applaud their bilingualism and their biculturalism. They have encountered opposition to their language and their culture, yet they have managed to enter into the new culture without abandoning their own.

We hope to see them go away to college, and then go back to any of the Hispanic communities to enrich the lives of many.
