Three residential wells in Nappanee went dry over the weekend Wells at three homes near C.R. 7 in Nappanee dried up over the weekend, according to the Elkhart County Emergency Management Department. Department director Jennifer Tobey said she worked with volunteers with the American Red Cross to supply 40 gallons of water to one of the families. Another homeowner decided to call a driller to dig a new well, and the owners of the third house were away for the weekend, Tobey said. Tobey said the houses in that area will continue to be closely monitored as the drought persists.
