Guía Comunitaria • Community Guide Project: Goals/Mission The goal(s) of the Community Guide: The Institute for Latino Studies at the University of Notre Dame, in partnership with The South Bend Tribune and El Puente, is publishing a Community Guide to resources and services available within the local and regional community. The goal of the Community Guide is to make information about agencies providing services in Elkhart, LaPorte, Marshall, and St. Joseph Counties more accessible to the public. The featured agencies will be those providing social, legal, government, education and health services. During these hard economic times, the Community Guide will act as a facilitator between the community and the local outreach agencies, organizations, and programs that are working to meet the needs of the people. El objetivo de la Guía Comunitaria: El Instituto de Estudios Latinos de la Universidad de Notre Dame, en asociación con The South Bend Tribune y El Puente, están publicando una Guía de los recursos y servicios disponibles dentro de la comunidad local y regional. El objetivo de la Guía es lograr que la información sobre las agencias que prestan servicios en los condados de Elkhart, LaPorte, Marshall, y de St. Joseph puedan ser accesible al público. Las agencias en este guía prestan servicios sociales, legales, servicios de la educación, y servicios de salud. Durante estos difícil tiempos económicos la Guía Comunitaria actuará como una facilitadora entre la comunidad y las agencias locales, organizaciones, y programas que trabajan para proveer las necesidades de la gente. La Guía Comunitaria será publicada en Inglés y Español y también incluyera una Guía de cómo la gente pueden donar dinero, su tiempo, y dar otro tipos de donativos para ayudar a la comunidad. Education: To provide information to help parents enroll their children and places where they can find education assistance. This section provides parents with information to help them navigate their local education system and where to ask for help. Educación: Proveer información para ayudar a los padres a inscribir a sus hijos y informarlos sobre los lugares donde pueden encontrar asistencia para la educación. Health: To provide information of places where people can access affordable health care. Legal: To provide information of agencies where people can find affordable legal representation and advice.
