Maria Celesta Longoria from Corpus Chirsti, Tx and Adam Ticefrom Elkhar, became engaged in October of 2000 and graduated in May 2002, Maria with a degree in Environmental Studies and Adam in Church Music from Goshen College. Maria came to Goshen College in the fall of 1998 where she met Adam Tice were married on July 27 at College Mennonite Church, Rev. Jim Smith of Bethel Missionary Church presided. Maria was escorted to the altar by her mother and step-father. Tito and Rachel Guedea served as honorary grandparents for Maria as she has no living grandparents. The ceremony included two songs composed by Adam, one especially for Maria, which was sung by Lisa Guedea Carreno. The couple resides in Goshen.
The Hispanic Council of Elkhart County won the first prize in the 4-H parade. In the pictures two of its members, the Folkloric Group of Elkhart and the newspaper El Puente.
