Continue NEW YEAR’S WISHES FROM MAPLE CITY HEALTH CARE CENTER All of us at Maple City Health Care Center want to wish the readers of El Puente a healthy and joyful new year. 2009 was a difficult year for our community. We were sad to see people lose jobs. We lost many of our friends when they could no longer stay in Goshen and had to move. On the other hand, we saw great generosity. We saw people helping each other. Many of our patients used their free time to volunteer to build the community. They worked for La Casa, Maple City Market, The Window, and Habitat for Humanity. The members of many churches in the community worked and donated so that people had enough food, clothing, and medical care. We are also grateful for our renovated building. We now have space so that our patients will be more comfortable won’t have to wait so long for their appointments. We promise to work hard in 2010 to improve the health of people and the health of our community. We will try to provide an affordable health care home for as many people in our neighborhood as possible. 2010 should be a good year for another reason. We plan to host groups called “Our Future Together”. People will work together to imagine and agree on a picture of the best future for our children and how we can work together to accomplish that future. Finally, we feel fortunate to be able to work with and learn from the people in our community. We look forward to a year where together we build healthier relationships, healthier bodies and spirits, and a healthier community.
