MARCH 2010 Indiana Employment Report

INDIANAPOLIS - Indiana’s preliminary seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate for March 2010 increased by 0.1 percent to 9.9 percent, but the number of Hoosier jobs increased by 16,600. That is the largest over-the-month employment increase since September 2005.

Indiana Fully Invests Stimulus Funds for Water Infrastructure Improvements 74 projects are underway throughout the state

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Finance Authority (IFA) announced it has fully awarded all $122 million provided to Indiana for wastewater and drinking water infrastructure projects under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.  The Recovery Act has supplemented more than $406 million in financings through the IFA’s State Revolving Fund (SRF) Loan Program during the last 9-months, nearly tripling the number of loan closings traditionally accomplished in a year.

WOLF LAKE, Ind. – Merry Lea Environmental Learning Center of Goshen College, will hold its annual NatureFest the weekend of May 14 and 15 at its Farmstead site. Guests can arrive Friday evening, 6:30 p.m. and camp overnight—or come Saturday morning. The weekend features eight different hike options, canoeing, geocatching, astronomy and camping overnight if desired. During Festival Hours, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, guests can listen to live music, purchase food, shop for heirloom vegetables, play children’s games and explore nature-related booths and exhibits.
